1,221 cases of infection, 1,315 healings and 27 deaths in 24 hours

In Morocco, 1,221 new cases of infection with the coronavirus (Covid-19), 1,315 healings and 27 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.

This new assessment brings to 57,085 the number of contaminations since the first case reported on March 2, to 41,901 that of people fully recovered, and to 1,011 the number of deaths.

The 27 new cases of death were recorded in Casablanca (8), Marrakech (3), Fès (3), Sefrou (2), Tangier (2), Meknes (1), Chefchaouen (1), Tetouan (1), Chichaoua (1), Agadir (1), Inezgane-Ait-Melloul (1), Oujda-Angad (1), Beni Mellal (1) and Tinghir (1).

The cumulative incidence rate is 157.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, indicates the ministry, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 14,173, a rate of 39 / 100,000 inhabitants.

Concerning the geographical distribution of the 1,221 new cases, 421 were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 194 in the region of Marrakech-Safi, 178 in the region of Fès-Meknes, 100 in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 83 in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, 71 in the Souss-Massa region, 66 in the Draâ-Tafilalet region, 49 in the Oriental region, 27 in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, 13 in the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun, 13 in that of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and 6 in that of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.

Regarding people in a severe or critical state of health, the ministry reports 183 cases admitted to intensive care and intensive care units, including 44 intubated.
