Councilor Michel van Elck of Liveable Rotterdam fully understands the anger of the inhabitants of Pernis. “It is really crazy that they are the victims of the wrongdoing of the intruders.” He has asked the college for clarification through council questions and wants the pool to open again as soon as possible.

“Many people are not going on holiday this year and have to rely on facilities such as the swimming pool in Pernis,” says Van Elck. That the deployment of a night watchman is too expensive does not go with him. “Up to half a million euros will be made available for additional support for the ten aldermen. It is clear where the priorities of this college lie. I fully understand that residents of Pernis do not feel taken seriously. ” According to Van Elck, the problem must be tackled, but the easiest solution is chosen.
