Last day, 6723 new infections were registered in Moscow, but in the previous day – 8457. A total of 1 338 937 people were infected with the coronavirus in Moscow.
In the capital, 114 people died from Covid-19 during the day, the total number of victims in Moscow rising to 22,086.
A total of 20,538 new infections have been reported in Russia in the previous 24 hours, and 599 people have died from Covid-19.
The incidence of Covid-19 in Moscow has continued to rise in recent weeks, with a similar trend in many parts of Russia.
Russia has the sixth highest number of infections in the world, but the president Vladimir Putin has so far claimed that Russia the pandemic is coping better than most other countries.

Sobyanin pointed out that, in fact, it would be advisable to visit catering establishments only for vaccinated people, because “the PCR test does not provide protection”, and has encouraged people to wear masks and gloves throughout the trip.
In an effort to stem the new wave of pandemics, 16 Russian regions have already imposed severe restrictions and mandatory vaccinations.
