The index of industrial production (IIP) is estimated to increase by 1.69% over the same period, mainly the mining industry increased by 35.96% due to increased orders from companies. In addition, some industries decreased, such as the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning, which decreased by 3.98% due to the production and distribution of electricity following the regulation of Vietnam’s electricity; Water supply, waste management and treatment, and wastewater decreased by 1.54%.

The results of the survey of business trends of enterprises in the processing and manufacturing industry in the fourth quarter show that the production and business trends of enterprises from the fourth quarter of 2023 are more difficult than the third quarter of 2023.

According to the general assessment of the production and business situation of enterprises in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter, 20.51% of enterprises assessed the production and business situation to be more positive; 43.59% of businesses rated more difficult fall into the wood processing, printing, non-metallic product manufacturing, beds, cabinets, tables and chairs manufacturing…; The remaining majority of businesses think that the production and business situation is stable, accounting for 35.9%.

It is expected that in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, 25.64% of businesses will think that the trend will get better; 28.21% of businesses forecast worse; 46.15% of businesses think that the production and business situation will be stable.

Meanwhile, export turnover in 2023 of Gia Lai province is estimated to reach 680 million USD, reaching 100% of the plan, up 3.03% over the same period. Of which, the main export is coffee, export output reached 230,000 tons, equivalent to a value of 490 million USD, an increase of 4.26% over the same period. Import turnover is estimated at 110 million USD, reaching 100% of the plan, down 21.43% over the same period. Import turnover decreased mainly due to the decrease in the amount of agricultural products (cassava chips, cashew nuts) imported from Cambodia through Le Thanh international export port.

Also in 2023, the total budget revenue of the province is estimated to reach 5,533 billion VND, reaching 101.9% compared to the estimate assigned by the Central Government, reaching 93.6% compared to the estimate assigned by the Provincial People’s Council, down 2.6% compared to the estimate assigned by the Provincial People’s Council. same period.
