10th International Conference on Computer, Control, Informatics and its Applications (IC3INA 2023): Exploring the Power of Data for Digital Innovation

Bandung – BRIN Public Relations. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) through the Data and Information Science Research Center is holding the 10th International Conference on Computer, Control, Informatics and its Applications (IC3INA 2023) with the theme “Exploring the Power of Data: Leveraging Information to Drive Digital Innovation”, Wednesday-Thursday (4-5/10) online.

The 10th IC3INA conference explores data science, showing how businesses can utilize information to make informed decisions, drive innovation and gain competitive advantage.

Head of the BRIN Electronics and Informatics Research Organization Budi Prawara at the opening of IC3INA 2023 said that BRIN researchers have been known globally for their important role in advancing human knowledge by studying new ideas, theories and facts.

“I want to emphasize the importance of collaboration and communication. “This conference is an instrument for the purpose of establishing interaction, getting to know each other, and sharing interesting ideas between academics and researchers,” said Budi.

“Through IC3INA 2023, we encourage all participants to get involved, network and form collaborations. “This is a platform to forge new partnerships, gain new perspectives, and drive positive change,” said Budi.

Zhaojun ‘Steven’ Li, Professor from Western New England University and President of IEEE Reliability Society USA filled the keynote speaker session on the first day of IC3INA 2023 by explaining “Big Data Energy”. He said that increasing energy consumption is influenced by various factors, including the economy, population growth, and so on, which can offset increases in energy efficiency.

He explained that controlling the increase in energy consumption is very crucial. The trade-off between reliability and energy efficiency in redundancy design requires strategic planning, efficient component selection, and control mechanisms.

“New technologies such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence offer the potential to automate or optimize redundancy designs without increasing energy use. “Policies, standards, renewable energy and environmental responsibility are the keys to sustainability and reliability,” explained Steven.

On the first day of IC3INA 2023, also acting as keynote speaker, Frank Guan Yunqing, Professor from the Singapore Institute of Technology explained “Towards AI Empowered VR/AR for Metaverse”.

Guan said that Virtual Reality (VR) technology has developed rapidly and been applied in various sectors in recent years.

VR can provide an immersive experience to users by producing virtual images and displaying virtual images to users with a Head-Mounted Display (HMD) which is the main component of VR.

“VR and Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are the main supporting technologies for a metaverse. VR and AR bridge human life in the real and virtual worlds. “AI has great potential in its applications, and furthermore the use of VR/AR will add to this potential,” explained Guan.
