A modular emergency hospital was installed this morning on the premises of the Universidad de Concepción, in the capital of the Bio Bío region. The enclosure It has 100 beds and is enabled in the parking lot of the study house.
As detailed by Regional Mayor, Sergio Giacamán, The structure will increase the number of critical beds in the local healthcare network. “We have exceeded 340 critical beds in the region. With this [el hospital modular] we have the possibility to clear the basic masters ”.
For this reason, the authorities consider this facility to be a complement to the Concepción Regional Hospital, which they claim has not yet collapsed due to the Covid-10 pandemic. “This is a place of prevention in case we require it,” explained Seremi de Salud, Héctor Muñoz, “we are working so that we do not have a collapse.”
According to the figures of the last DEIS Epidemiological Report No. 33, the region as a whole (among confirmed, probable and unreported cases), has 9,758 cases.
