During Thursday, Molde municipality was notified of ten new cases of infection. These are mainly children, young people and younger adults, the municipality writes in a press release.
The vast majority are linked to ongoing outbreaks in the municipality, and infection detection is still ongoing.
Kindergarten and school
Infection has been proven at Mobarn Øverland kindergarten and Sellanrå school, according to the municipality.
According to the new, national rules, children in the same class or department as the infected person must be tested. While waiting for an answer, they can continue to go to school or kindergarten if they have no symptoms.
– The new rules contribute to a sharp increase in the number who must be tested, says municipal chief physician Cato Innerdal in the report.
This week, between 100 and 150 people have tested themselves daily, and the number is rising.
Expands test capacity
Molde municipality reminds that everyone who has symptoms of a cold, must as soon as possible book an appointment for testing, and stay at home until they have received the test result.
– We do our utmost to ensure that everyone who has to take the test gets it done the same or at the latest the following day, says the municipal chief.
On Wednesday, a total of six new infected people were registered. Molde municipality now has 44 registered cases of corona in August alone.
