There are a total of 4706 beds in 34 locations in Seoul and the autonomous district life treatment centers, with 715 beds in use, with an operation rate of 15.2%, and 3,515 beds that can be used immediately.

Next, I will tell you about the trend of COVID-19 week. Last week, there were a total of 806 confirmed cases of Corona 19 in Seoul, with an average of 115 cases occurring per day. The number of confirmed cases decreased from 125.1 on average two weeks ago.

The number of confirmed cases under investigation of the route of infection has increased. The number of cases during the infection route investigation increased from 25.9% of all confirmed cases two weeks ago to 28.5% last week. The rate of no symptoms also increased from 31.6% of all confirmed cases two weeks ago to 40.4% last week.

The proportion of confirmed patients aged 65 or older, who are at high risk of serious illness when confirmed, slightly increased from 22.1% of all confirmed cases two weeks ago to 22.5% last week.

The death toll continues to be high, with 30 people two weeks ago and 24 people last week. In the recent 1 week, group outbreaks were found in the order of 99 people related to facilities such as welfare facilities, 63 people related to medical institutions, 58 people related to work, 19 people related to nursing hospitals and facilities, and 17 people related to religious facilities.

Corona 19 outbreak has been spread by contact between confirmed cases. Group infection is also occurring in multi-use facilities and medical institutions. Citizens are encouraged to refrain from private gatherings from 5 people and actively participate in step 2.5 of social distancing.

The following is the current status of Gositel-related occurrences in Dongdaemun-gu. One Gositel user located in Dongdaemun-gu was confirmed on January 29, followed by 9 additional confirmations on the 31st, and a total of 10 were confirmed. All are confirmed patients in Seoul.

On January 31, the confirmed cases were 2 employees and 7 residents. A total of 28 people, including contact persons, such as those related to the facility, were tested, and 9 positive, 17 negative, and the rest are in progress, excluding the first confirmed person.

In the epidemiological study, the facility was found to be in the form of a corridor, with each room located on both sides, making natural ventilation difficult, and the kitchen, toilet, shower room, laundry room, etc. were shared, and some residents ate together.

The city of Seoul is conducting epidemiological investigations and contact investigations with Dongdaemun Health Center, and quarantine and disinfection of the facilities. In facilities where multiple people live together, such as Gositel and guesthouse, open the window from time to time to ventilate, and in common spaces such as laundry rooms and kitchens, be sure to wear a mask and follow the quarantine rules, such as keeping a distance when eating.

The following is the status of outbreaks related to hospitals in Seongdong-gu. One guardian of a patient admitted to a hospital in Seongdong-gu was confirmed on the 27th, and 33 were confirmed by the 30th, and 13 were confirmed on the 31st, and a total of 47 were confirmed. Of these, 44 confirmed cases in Seoul.

On January 31, the confirmed cases were 2 workers, 4 patients, 2 caregivers, 1 guardian, and 4 family members. A total of 3433 people were tested, including those who were contacted by the facility personnel, and 46 positive, 3322 negative, and the rest are under examination, excluding the first confirmed person.

In an epidemiological investigation, the hospital prepared a list of guardians entering and exiting the hospital and recommended wearing a mask, but as a result of checking through CCTV, it was found that some caregivers did not wear masks.

We are investigating that the first confirmed cases were spread to medical staff, patients, and guardians in the same ward while caring for patients in turns between families. Seoul City is conducting epidemiological and contact investigations with the Seongdong-gu Public Health Center. In particular, the ward where the patient was located was quarantined in the same group, and patients were relocated, and we are striving to block radio waves through follow-up tests and monitoring for contacts such as staff, patients, and guardians.

In medical institutions, not only workers, but also caregivers and guardians are asked to wear masks, thoroughly hygiene their hands, undergo a prompt examination in case of symptoms, and take full care in managing infections in the facility, such as disinfecting the indoor environment.
