[동영상] Meaning of Daejeon Hana Citizen Supporters’ ‘Tongcheon Performance’

[굿모닝충청 이종현 기자] Although it was my first time, it was a performance that I couldn’t help but be filled with memories.

This is a story about the Tongcheon performance handcrafted by the supporters ‘Daejeon Lovers’, the 12th player of Daejeon Hana Citizen (hereinafter referred to as Citizen), a local professional soccer team that succeeded in remaining after being promoted to the first division after 8 years.

While Citizen’s last game of the year was held at Daejeon World Cup Stadium on the afternoon of the 2nd, Daejeon Lovers showed a special performance.

In the last game against FC Seoul on this day, Daejeon Lovers opened a large bucket in the S seats, the cheering area, the moment the players entered.

In this Tongcheon, with the purple sunset and Daejeon World Cup Stadium in the background, the message ‘It’s just starting!’ Our journey towards one dream! The K-League and Asian Champions League trophies were drawn along with the phrase ‘Ale Citizen’.

It also contains the logo of Hana Financial Group, the parent company of Daejeon Lovers and Citizen.

The size was 35m wide and 10m tall, making it truly a very large stream.

With the player’s entrance, Daejeon Lovers lowered and fixed the curtain from the 4th floor of the stadium and sang the cheering song ‘Purple Sunset’ together.

At this moment, the second Tongcheon Stream containing the history of the region called Daejeon appeared. Daejeon Lover Bus introduced a new 1.8m train with a width of 20m. As you all know, Daejeon is the undisputed center of railroads.

Members of the Daejeon Lovers performed a performance by singing a cheering song called ‘My Train’ and moving a stream depicting a train.

This can be interpreted as meaning that Citizen will always be with you on your train ride.

Pollen in purple and green, the colors symbolizing Citizen, was also blown. This performance lasted about 10 minutes.

Daejeon Lovers purchased materials for this stream in October and painted it starting on the 26th of last month, a week before the game.

About 100 people participated in the production over 6 days. There were days when I drew from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.

Min Kyung-il, who was in charge of the performance, said, “It was a year that we welcomed with the joy of promotion. “As we succeeded in remaining in the first division, which was our goal, we prepared a performance with the intention of starting next year together in a stadium with a purple sunset in anticipation of a new beginning,” he explained.

He continued, “Even though Daejeon Lovers members were busy with their jobs, they each took time to participate in the production of Tongcheon. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “This is all because of my love for the Daejeon area and Citizen.”

“It was difficult but rewarding. He also said, “It seems that the relationships between members became stronger during the week-long production of Tongcheon.”

Mr. Min said, “It took eight years to be promoted to the first division. “Now, I hope that my dream of lifting the golden trophy at Daejeon World Cup Stadium will come true,” he added.

Beomhyun Park, who participated in the production all week, also said, “I felt like giving up. “But I persevered while watching his colleagues,” he said, adding, “I felt a sense of accomplishment as I watched Tongcheon gradually becoming more and more complete,” and emphasized, “The time of the week was truly meaningful, and I think it will be an unforgettable memory.”

Meanwhile, 10,176 spectators attended the game on this day and enjoyed the Citizens’ last game. Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo and Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo also attended. The game was tied 2-2, and the Citizens finished the season in 8th place out of 12 teams in the first division.

Director Lee Min-seong said, “Thank you for your warm support for a year. “I was happy thanks to Daejeon Lovers,” he said, and promised, “I will prepare well to become a stronger and more competitive Citizen next year, aiming to advance to Final A (1st to 6th place) and challenge the Asian Champions.”
