An alcohol test showed a value above 1.4 per mille. The 82-year-old then had to go to the hospital to take a blood sample. The driver’s license was taken away and he must now face a criminal complaint for drunk driving.

Wertheim: Caged deer saved

The police received a strange emergency call on Tuesday morning. The caller said that a deer was imprisoned in the area of ​​the railway tunnel in Mühlenstrasse in Wertheim. A patrol crew from the Wertheim police station discovered a roebuck in the cordoned-off area of ​​the railway tunnel. The goat constantly jumped against the building fence there and tried to escape from its predicament. The officials supported him in his plan to escape by pushing the barrier aside. The roebuck then took advantage of the gap, jumped happily and enjoyed the freedom he had regained.

Ilmspan: Game accident with high property damage

In a traffic accident on Saturday between a car and a deer, property damage was high. A 20-year-old was driving his Audi on the district road in the Ilmspan area towards Gerchsheim. On Tuesday morning, a truck driver caused a traffic accident on the A81 and fled. At 06:30 a.m. at Grünsfeld, a 35-year-old VW driver drove in the left lane towards Würzburg. When the latter overtook a truck with an orange tail, the truck suddenly pulled to the left to pass a vehicle itself. In order to avoid a collision, the 35-year-old had to brake hard, whereupon the rear of his vehicle broke out and crashed into the left-hand concrete lane separation. From there, the VW hurled both lanes against the right guardrail and came to a stop. The accident caused property damage of around EUR 16,000. Wertheim: accident at work

In an accident at work on Tuesday morning at 7.45 a.m. in Wertheim, a worker was seriously injured and had to be rescued by the fire department. While unloading a ship on the Main, the 52-year-old slipped off a step ladder and fell about five meters into the depth. The man was seriously injured by the fall and had to be rescued from the ship’s belly by the fire brigade using an aerial ladder. The injured person was taken to the hospital by the emergency services after the rescue.
