A 9-year-old boy cycled a steep footpath in the direction of the main street on May 27th, 20:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. When he reached the main road, he crossed the road unchecked and collided head-on with a car driving up from a 47-year-old driver. The child was thrown off the bike towards the oncoming lane. The boy then fled on foot.
The slightly injured boy was found by a police patrol a short time later and handed over to the Red Cross. After outpatient primary care in a nearby clinic, the child could be released home.
According to the current state of the investigation, the boy had worn a helmet at the time of the accident. The bike was roadworthy.
The property damage incurred amounts to approx. 2000 euros.
