The Bremen TV Prize, the regional ARD competition, set a new record: Radio Bremen received 151 submissions – 25 more than last year. The broadcaster awards the prize on behalf of ARD.

Now the preliminary jury with Christian Buch (MDR), Verena Egbringhoff (WDR), Michael Heussen (WDR), Neele Knetemann (RTL), Christian Mößner (BR), Lothar Schmitz (SWR), Ute Wellstein (hr) and Gabriele von Moltke (rbb) selected and nominated the outstanding productions of German-speaking regional television

The jury of the Bremen Television Prize decides who receives the prizes

-  Frank Plasberg (ARD-Moderator und Jury-Vorsitzender), 
-  Clare Devlin (Crossmedia-Journalistin beim WDR), 
-  Gesa Eberl (Moderatorin bei n-tv und RTL), 
-  Hans Helmich (Redakteur beim Fernsehprogramm der Deutschen Welle und Medientrainer), 
-  Andreas Jölli (Korrespondent des Österreichischen Rundfunks in Berlin und Publizistik-Dozent) und 
-  Birgitta Weber (SWR-Abteilungsleiterin Inland, Redaktionsleiterin des ARD-Politikmagazins "Report Mainz", Dozentin für Moderationsseminare an der Hochschule für Medien in Stuttgart).  

The winners will be announced at a virtual award ceremony on November 6, 2020.

Moderator Frank Plasberg and the jury will conduct the evening in a live stream, introduce the nominees and speak to the winners. The musical guest of the evening is the Hamburg singer / songwriter Thees Uhlmann.

The Bremen TV Prize

The Bremen Television Prize selects the best in regional television for German-language television programs and is awarded by Radio Bremen on behalf of ARD. The award has existed with interruptions since 1974. Numerous prominent authors have already received it, including the current jury chairman Frank Plasberg. ARD stands for closeness – for stories from the region for the region. The ARD was founded 70 years ago by the state broadcasters.
