A coach caught fire on the A81 on Wednesday evening. The Autobahn near the Holzen tunnel near Heilbronn is currently completely closed.
Update, 7:40 p.m.: A fully occupied coach caught fire on the A81 motorway on Wednesday evening. The bus burned out completely. All occupants were able to escape to the outside. As far as is known, no one was injured. As the “Heilbronner Voice” reports, rescue workers took care of the bus passengers and provided them with drinks. A replacement bus is already on its way.
According to the fire brigade, the bus was already fully engulfed in flames when emergency services arrived at the scene. However, the fire was brought under control quickly thanks to the extinguishing work that was initiated immediately. The A81 had to be completely closed in the direction of Würzburg. The duration of the ban is still unclear. A mile-long backlog has already formed.

First report, 7 p.m.: At around 6:11 p.m., a coach caught fire on the A81 from Freiburg in the direction of Würzburg just before the Holzern tunnel near Heilbronn. According to the police, the fire broke out due to a technical defect.
According to initial findings, all occupants are unharmed. The “ADAC traffic jam detector” indicates that the A81 in the direction of Würzburg, between the Weinsberg junction and Neuenstadt, is completely blocked. A mile-long traffic jam has already formed. Further information follows.
