The authorities of GKM did not intend to give up Łopaciński, because they decided that during the track works, for nearly 40 minutes he was mocking the technical condition of the tractors and watering cans at the club’s disposal and the sluggish work on the track. In fact, the activists followed the orders of the referee, Remigiusz Substyk, and it was the referee’s mistakes that made us watch the comedy of mistakes and inept attempts to repair the surface for several dozen minutes.
A day after the incident, activists wrote an official complaint against Canal +, in which they demanded the correction of information given during the broadcast and an official apology. The authorities of PGE Ekstraliga, which supported the club, were also involved in the case. The result of these actions is the temporary removal of the journalist, but also the expected letter with explanations from the Canal + authorities.
It is not known whether during Sunday’s match between MrGarden GKM Grudziądz and Eltrox Włókniarz Częstochowa, the station plans to refer to the events from a week ago. The interested person himself does not want to comment on the matter.
The activists from Grudziądz, who promised themselves that they would not forgive themselves, are much more talkative. – Already during the broadcast, I received signals that we were accused of bad organization. The truth is that we have two brand new tractors in the club, but the judge did not allow them to be used because he was afraid that heavy equipment could spoil the surface. But when our latest tractors appeared on the track, journalists laughed that they probably came from the field from farmers. This is just one of many mocking comments in our direction. We are a professional club and we will not allow ourselves to make such accusations, so we will file an official complaint – explained to us a few days ago, the president of GKM, Marcin Murawski.
The activist spoke even more sharply about the work of TV journalists in a statement published on the club’s website shortly after the meeting.
– I would like to refer to the scandalous commentary by editor Michał Łopaciński, who insulted not only the club but also all the inhabitants of our city. I believe that this level of comment is unacceptable and we will certainly not leave it that way. We will not allow the name of our club and our fans to be unfairly slandered – President Murawski wrote in a statement.
The matter on our websites was also commented by the president of PGE Ekstraliga, Wojciech Stępniewski. In an interview for Przegląd Sportowy, he referred to the allegations made during the broadcast and clearly supported the position of the indignant residents of Grudziądz. – It was a wrong message and absolutely not true. The judge ordered work on the track with specific equipment, and not everything that GKM has in the technical park. The gentleman who changed the tractor to the watering can, it was a torommaster. The rule is that if the surface is even, it is not poured over it. And vice versa. That’s why he changed trains and did the work himself, because he knows the track best of all. People to operate the remaining tractors were outsiders. Of course, with the appropriate knowledge of how to level the surface, etc., but in a crisis situation, it was rational to hand the matter over to the trackmaster – he explained.
