Zuger Kantonalbank is involved in the Swiss Climate Foundation

The Swiss Climate Foundation and the Zuger Kantonalbank will work together to promote climate protection and Swiss SMEs in the future. The Zuger Kantonalbank now brings the gross amount from the CO2-Redistribution to the Swiss Climate Foundation and is involved in the foundation’s advisory board. With the contributions, which are now made available by 25 companies in the service sector, the foundation supports SMEs in Switzerland and Liechtenstein that contribute to climate protection with innovative approaches.

The partner companies of the Swiss Climate Foundation make an important contribution to domestic climate protection. They all voluntarily waive federal reimbursements from the CO2Levy and pool these funds in the Swiss Climate Foundation. The Zuger Kantonalbank is one of them: “Climate protection concerns us all – today more than ever! I am convinced that a lot more can be achieved by working with partners than by going it alone, ”explains Hanspeter Rhyner, CEO of Zuger Kantonalbank. “Together with the Swiss Climate Foundation, we are committed to effective climate protection measures and the promotion of innovative technologies for SMEs.”

Climate-friendly innovations in focus

Since its inception, the foundation has supported over 2,100 SMEs in Switzerland and Liechtenstein with CHF 33 million. Vincent Eckert, Managing Director of the Swiss Climate Foundation, is happy about the new, strong partner. “By joining the Swiss Climate Foundation, Zuger Kantonalbank is sending a clear signal that climate protection does not end at the canton’s border. Climate change is an immense challenge that we can only master by joining forces and using forward-looking solutions and technologies. ” A large part of the foundation’s funding goes into the development of innovative technologies, including in the building sector and in agriculture, or into projects in the field of circular economy.
