Former legendary hockey player Jozef Golonka has been guessing since the beginning of the 2022 Olympic Games that the Slovak national team will manage to win a medal in Beijing.

“It was a good mix of older players and the younger generation. The mix was well put together and this tournament gave a chance for a medal. At the beginning, when the Winter Olympics started, I guessed it for the medal,” Golonka said.
The hockey forward and former representative Juraj Mikúš, who currently works at HKM Zvolen, also sees the winning of the bronze medal at the 2022 Olympic Games as a historical success. As he further said, according to him, Patrik Rybár should have gone to the goal at the Olympic tournament from the beginning.
