Author of booming NBA debut, Zion Williamson takes on the hype that surrounds him. After his first 10 games, he now holds several records so far owned by league legends.
The debut of a rookie had rarely been expected in the NBA. Since his high school years, Zion Williamson attracts the attention of observers and Internet users. Long considered a simple fairground phenomenon whose game could not coincide with that developed in the league, the Pelicans player was therefore under great pressure after his Draft last summer.
The wait even grew as his candor kept him at rest because of knee surgery. The former Duke was finally able to step on an NBA floor for the first time on January 23, to the delight of fans in New Orleans and the entire league.
Since then, Zion has had spectacular actions and offensive cards. Witness his average of 21 points per night. Thus, with only 10 games on the clock, the golgoth captured many early records. He is, for example, the second player to score more than 200 points in his first 10 games, all with a success of over 55% in shooting, since the introduction of the 3-point line. Alone Shaquille O’Neal presented such statistics so quickly.
Only two players in the 3-point era have scored 200+ PTS with a 55+ FG% in the first 10 games of their career.

Since the introduction of the 3-point line, only two players have scored 200 points with marksmanship above 55% in their first 10 career games.
One of them is Shaquille O’Neal (238 points, 55.7% shooting)
The other is Zion Williamson (221 points, 57.6% on target)

Likewise, Zion is simply the fourth teenager (under the age of 20) to sign two games over 30 consecutive points after LeBron James, Devin Booker and Luka Doncic.

Regardless, none of these players achieved this in the first 10 games of their career.
Impressive? Certainly. Even more when we learn that he is the only one to have accomplished such a feat in his first 10 games in the league. Definitely, Williamson is not content to squat in the Top 10, since he already lists his name in the history books alongside icons of the NBA.
If his extraordinary physique avoids injuries that could affect his performance in the future, there is no doubt that the former Duke will continue his quest for records over time.
Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, to a lesser extent Devin Booker and Luka Doncic … Zion Williamson’s path seems to be cleared to reach the best players in the league.
