The head of the board of “Ukrzaliznytsia” Volodymyr Zhmak lost his post. The powers of the chairman of the board of the company were temporarily assigned to Ivan Yurik.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on March 17 supported the long-term termination of powers of the chairman of the board of “Ukrzaliznytsia” Volodymyr Zhmak. About it reported the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada Vasily Mokan in Telegram.
The duties of the chairman of the board of “Ukrzaliznytsia” are temporarily assigned to one of the board members of the company, Ivan Yurik.
As the correspondent of the edition reports “GORDON”, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, all personnel issues were considered together without discussion. The specific reasons for Zhmak’s dismissal were not named.
Member of the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, former People’s Deputy Sergei Leshchenko clarified in Telegram that the submission for Zhmak’s dismissal was previously submitted by the company’s supervisory board.
LIGA.net with reference to a high-ranking interlocutor in “Ukrzaliznytsia“wrote that the reason for Zhmak’s removal is a different vision of the division and restructuring of the company, as well as the supervisory board’s suspicions that Zhmak could act in the interests of the Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Zhmak the head of the board of “Ukrzaliznytsya” August 26 last year. Prior to his appointment, he was Member of the Supervisory Board of Boryspil Airport. In 2015-2016, he worked First Deputy Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Mikhail Saakashvili. Prior to that, he held senior positions in the TNK-BP group, which was one of the 10 largest private oil companies in the world in terms of oil production.
