I hope this is not yet another divisive topic. The historical memory must be there, but when Bulgaria has to take the side – whether the white or the black, because at the moment there is a war less than 350 km away and we as a country must take a clear and precise position, I do not think that this monument must again be the terma of controversy. This monument should be in the museum of socialist art. This thread should be closed once and for all.
This is what GERB-SDS deputy candidate Desislava Atanasova said to bTV regarding the decision to dismantle the Monument to the Soviet Army and the protests against it.
Regarding the criticism of the acting Minister of Regional Development, Ivan Shishkov, about the quality of highways, Atanasova stated:The construction of large infrastructure projects remains GERB’s calling card. In the last 2 years, nobody has done anything about these projects.”
“Doesn’t it seem to you that whenever an interim government governs, persons are elected in an on-screen couple who usually criticize GERB on the topic of road construction – before that it was Minister Komitova, now Minister Shishkov is walking around with nuts, flasks, etc.she pointed out.
“Probably the attack is against GERB in this case, which has done the most in road construction,” added Atanasova.
“For the last two years, statehood seems to be missing and the institutions are falling apart. Two years ago, Mr. Rashkov and other screen characters were defining GERD as what it is, and you saw what happened,” she stated.
„Migration, inflation and exposure became the label of these two years. Not a single statement of the former Minister of the Interior turned out to be true,” she said in reference to Kiril Petkov’s government.
“He talked about sacks, about wiretapping, even about people being eaten. I think this is part of the campaign rhetoric and I don’t even intend to go back. They are like cartoon characters out to entertain the audienceAtanasova added.
When asked if the arrested head of Hidrostroy, Veliko Zhelev, is close to GERB, she answered: “I have never seen this gentleman, until the moment when all the media showed his press conferences a few days ago. All public contracts, who won them, how they won them, can be checked.”
“I categorically believe that no company can be declared close to the authorities – the government of GERB, especially since it worked 20, 30, 40 years ago. Then GERB did not exist,” added Atanasova.
“GERB always participates in the elections to win,” she was emphatic.
Atanasova also replied to Lena Borislavova from PP, who was in the studio before her: “Lena Borislavova has probably never visited a single store and does not know how much bread costs. But cheese is BGN 35. People are exhausted”
In her words, one option for governance is to work together with the PP “to overcome the legacy of their governance”. She pointed out that at the moment, because of the PP government, there is inflation, which has not been seen since the time of Zhan Videnov.
The interview ended with a colossal blunder by the presenter Zheni Marcheva. She interrupted Atanasova because the time was up, and sending her off she said: “Desislava Atanasova – representative of “We continue the change”. A long confused pause followed, Marcheva blushed and got confused in her words, but she finally managed to remember that Atanasova is a representative of GERB-SDS.
