Zero growth for Italy in the third quarter of 2023. Istat estimates that the gross domestic product (GDP), expressed in chained values with the reference year 2015, corrected for calendar effects and seasonally adjusted, remained stationary both compared to the previous quarter, and compared to the third quarter of 2022. This was announced by the statistics institute.
The Italian economy therefore remains stable after the decline recorded in the second quarter of the year. The trend trend is also stable, interrupting a growth that had lasted for ten consecutive quarters.
The third quarter of 2023 – explains Istat – had three working days more than the previous quarter and one working day less than the third quarter of 2022. The economic change is the synthesis of a decrease in added value in the manufacturing sector. agriculture, forestry and fishing, an increase in industry and a stagnation in services.
On the demand side, there is a negative contribution from the national component (gross of inventories) and a positive contribution from the net foreign component. The acquired change in gross domestic product for 2023 is equal to +0.7%. This is the same level as the previous quarter.
