Asus has that Zenbook 14 (UM425IA) presented a light and thin 14-inch notebook with Ryzen 4000 chip. According to the manufacturer, the device should have a runtime of up to 22 hours, which is primarily due to the comparatively large battery and the display, which Asus says is very economical.

The Zenbook 14 measures 319 x 210 x 14.3 mm at 1.13 kg – the version with a regular screen weighs a bit more at 1.22 kg. The resolution is always 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and apparently IPS technology is installed, Asus also speaks of anti-glare. The efficient panel should reach a bright 400 candelas per square meter and only need one watt, the other display is already over with dark 250 nits – and that with higher power consumption.
On the connection side, the device has two USB-C 3.2 Gen2 with display port and power delivery, the two sockets are therefore also used for charging. In addition, there are an HDMI 2.0b and a USB-A 3.2 Gen2 as well as a micro SD card reader. A 3.5 mm jack is missing, but Asus offers an adapter from USB-C to audio as an accessory. However, this is marked as optional, which is why it is incomprehensibly not included with all models. The keyboard of the Zenbook 14 is slightly chamfered when opening (Ergolift), this is to improve ergonomics when typing. The Clickpad integrates an illuminated number pad.
Inside the Zenbook 14 are AMD’s Renoir SoC, more precisely up to the eight-core Ryzen 7 4700U. In addition, there are up to 16 GB of soldered LPDDRX4-3733 RAM and an NVMe SSD with up to 1 TB; however, this is only connected via PCIe Gen3 x2. The battery has 67 watt hours and can be charged to 60 percent in just under an hour. The ultrabook should last up to 22 hours at a brightness of 150 nits. Asus plans to sell the Zenbook 14 (UM425IA) in Germany from July 2020, prices are not available.
