The Ukrainian defenders inflicted numerous losses on the Russians in the direction of Bakhmut and drove them from their positions. It is a difficult and painful task but the terrorists must lose.
This is what President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his daily video address to the nation, as reported by Ukrinform.
“Today I would like to praise our fighters in the Bakhmut direction, especially the special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine “Shaman”, as well as the border guards of the Luhansk detachment, who, together with the fighters of the International Legion of the Defense of Ukraine, inflicted numerous losses on the enemy and drove the occupiers from their positions on the outskirts of Bakhmut. This is a good result and I am grateful for it,” Zelensky said.
According to the president, every such achievement and every day of failures of the enemy in the Bakhmut direction and in general in the Donbas is a significant weakening for Russia, reports news.bg.
“The occupiers are steadily increasing their forces in the Donetsk region – they are doing it now. And every day like this with our successes is a new proof of the folly of the very idea of attacking Ukraine. If only such news from the front can to restore a sense of reality to everyone in Russia, we will have to ensure that as much as possible,” he said.
The head of state added that this task is difficult and painful, but it cannot be otherwise, the terrorists must lose despite all they try to do to strengthen themselves.
“I am grateful to our defenders of the Bakhmut fortress! I am grateful to all our warriors who withstood the pressure in the Soledar direction and defended their positions! I am grateful, of course, to all our fighters who bring quite encouraging news from the Lugansk region and some southern regions of our country,” Zelensky said.
On December 4, in the direction of Bakhmut, servicemen of the State Border Service of Ukraine, together with soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, repulsed an enemy attack and captured enemy positions in a counterattack. During the battle, the Ukrainian defenders killed nine Russian soldiers and wounded approximately 20 others.
