Zelensky responded to Kondratyuk’s petition to completely ban concerts of Russian artists before the de-occupation of Crimea

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky answered the TV presenter’s petition Igor Kondratyuk about a complete ban on concerts of Russian artists before the de-occupation of Crimea. About it website reports the head of the Ukrainian state.

According to the President’s response, Zeleniskiy sent to the Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov a request “to work through the ones introduced (by the petition – KR) proposals, to analyze the state of compliance with the requirements of the relevant legislation, in particular the Law of Ukraine “On touring events in Ukraine” in terms of conducting touring events, the participants of which are citizens of the aggressor state, to work out the issues of improving the system of their organization and conduct, increasing responsibility for violating the requirements of the specified Law “.

The President of Ukraine thanked everyone who joined this petition for “active citizenship.”

Zelensky recalled that in accordance with Article 15 of the Law of Ukraine “On Cinematography”, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine compiles a List of Persons posing a threat to national security.

Previously ban petition to Russian artists in Ukraine, until the return of Crimea and the restoration of control over the eastern borders of the country, received the necessary 25 thousand votes for consideration.

The initiator of the petition, TV presenter and public figure Igor Kondratyuk proposed to completely ban artists from Russia from performing in Ukraine, making an exception for those who publicly opposed Russian aggression. Kondratyuk substantiated his position by the fact that “it is unnatural for an artist to perform both for the Russian occupiers and for the Ukrainians occupied by them.”

Trips of foreign citizens to the annexed Crimea

After the annexation of Crimea, Ukraine closed all international checkpoints on the peninsula. You can legally get to Crimea only through the points of entry and exit on the administrative border with the Kherson region. Violators face deportation and fines.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry published an appeal in July 2016, in which it warned foreign citizens and stateless persons against illegal travel to Crimea.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the trips of foreign politicians to Crimea do not have official status.

Foreign artists and other cultural figures also violate Ukrainian law by coming on tour to Crimea annexed by Russia through checkpoints closed by Ukraine. Certain artists and singers who have traveled to Crimea or who have spoken out in support of the Russian annexation of Crimea are prohibited from performing in mainland Ukraine.

By inviting foreign citizens to the territory of Crimea, the Russian authorities of the peninsula are trying to legalize its annexation.
