Zelensky: Lavrov has forgotten World War II lessons | Abroad

“I have no words for it. No one has heard any contradiction or any justification from Moscow. What we have is complete silence. That means that the Russian leadership has forgotten all the lessons of World War II,” Zelensky, himself a descendant of a Jewish family, said in his daily video message. “Or maybe they never learned those lessons.”

Earlier in the evening, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi condemned Lavrov’s statements in a polemical interview on Italian TV. He told reporters that unlike Russia, Italy allows freedom of expression and that is why Lavrov was given the opportunity to have his say on Sunday “however wrong and abnormal. The part about Hitler was obscene.”
