President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Elena Zelenskaya will pay an official visit to Qatar. The visit is scheduled for April 5, informs press service of the Office of the President.
“Volodymyr Zelenskyy will hold talks with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of the State of Qatar Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani. During the meetings, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, agricultural, energy and military-technical spheres, as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations, “the message says.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties intend to sign several documents.
Elena Zelenskaya will meet with the head of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Social Development Qatar Foundation Mozo bint Nasser, the chairman of the Qatar state institution Qatar Museums Meyassoyu bint Hamad Al Thani, as well as with the wife of the Emir of Qatar, Javagir bint Hamad bin Suheim Al Thani. The meetings will be held as part of the development of the direction of public and cultural diplomacy.
“We need reliable partners if we want to develop quickly … A short visit to Qatar is a good attempt to expand our own capabilities. And this is important precisely today, when the world is somewhat confused and is trying to develop joint programs for responding to new challenges,” said the Office’s adviser President Mikhail Podolyak.
He stressed that Qatar is extremely interested in deepening various formats of cooperation with Ukraine.
“These are investment programs and infrastructure projects – management of ports and airports, their modernization, construction of new facilities. These are also programs in the Agro-industrial sector, energy, financial sector, IT-sphere,” Podolyak said.
He expressed confidence that the visit of the head of Ukraine to Qatar is very important and will have a positive impact on the economic growth of the country and its position in the international arena.
Adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Tymofiy Mylovanov said that during his visit to Qatar, issues of food security, export of agricultural products to Qatar, and supply of liquefied gas from Qatar will be discussed.
Investments will also be discussed: in the exploration of gas production in Ukraine, in infrastructure, energy, the agro-industrial industry, in Ukrainian startups.
In addition, the parties will discuss participation in privatization in Ukraine, assistance with security at the football championship in Qatar, the situation with coronavirus and cooperation in the field of cyber security.
“Joint projects will increase investments in Ukraine, create additional jobs, increase international trade …”, – said Mylovanov.
