/ world today news/ For the season’s last concert of the “Baroque” cycle of the Sofia Philharmonic /June 28, Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the great hall of the CC “Bulgaria”/ the violinist Zefira Valova has selected works by Vivaldi and Pisendel.
In 1716, the young German violin virtuoso Johann Georg Piesendel visited Venice and there he made one of the most important creative acquaintances for his career – with A. Vivaldi. A decade of non-stop exchange of sheet music and inspiration followed. That is why the G major violin concerto, performed in the style of the Dresden Palace Chapel, reveals a structural similarity to Vivaldi’s handwriting. It was the archives of Dresden that preserved the brilliant F-major concertos “Con molti stromenti”.
All the splendor of the Venetian architecture, the unreality of the baroque imagination, the sound of the Venetian bells reflected in the stone, water and sky, the carnival madness, the severity of the sacred images are reflected in the violin and string concertos “Il favorito” and “Il grosso mogul” of Antonio Vivaldi.
