Russian authorities ordered the deployment of Grads to the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant to dampen criticism from radical war supporters amid reports of troop withdrawals from the station.
ISW analysts recalled that previously released satellite footage confirms that Russian forces are storing military equipment, including ammunition, armored vehicles, anti-aircraft guns and other weapons on the territory of the ZNPP.
“The deployment of new equipment to the ZNPP may be an attempt to appease Russian nationalist military correspondents’ rumors about a possible Russian withdrawal from the ZNPP, which the Kremlin has denied twice in the past 10 days,” the experts say.
