Zak Brown thinks that Red Bull has overtaken Ferrari in the hunt for Mercedes. According to the McLaren CEO, the Milton Keynes team has taken a step in the right direction, but whether that is enough to actually threaten Mercedes remains to be seen. “Red Bull will be close to Mercedes.”
McLaren boss Zak Brown is making a number of predictions about the season starting next week on the official Formula 1 website. Brown starts with the midfield. According to the American, we may expect more struggles from that than last year. “I think we’ll see more or less the same in 2020 and 2021 as what we saw last year, ”says Brown. “I think the midfield might be even closer together. ”

And what about the battle for the championship? “Looking at the winter tests, it looks like Mercedes will be the dominant team again in 2020. Because of the rules, we can barely adjust the cars, I expect Mercedes to be reasonably good in 2020 and also in 2021. ”
