Zac Efron’s “green” travels, documentaries without personality

With your feet on the ground, the documentary series released by Netflix, has more than one curious aspect. Let’s start by saying that it stars Zac Efron, American actor of the Millennial generation, who became famous thanks to the cult film Disney High school musical. In each episode, Efron travels with his friend and lifestyle guru who is healthy and eco-friendly Darin Olien to discover a particularly interesting region of the planet from a naturalistic point of view, in search of healthy and sustainable lifestyles. For example, they go to Iceland to discover how the clean energy that comes from that volcanic land is used to supply the electricity needs of entire cities and, more generally, the well-being of citizens in an innovative way. Or in Sardinia to study daily habits of the many centenarians who live in what has been called the “Blue Zone”.

The rebranding of Zac Efron

In each land they visit, the two have a typical recipe of the place illustrated, with the inevitable final taste. As always with Netflix, there is great care of all visual aspects, the production is very glossy and the landscapes are truly fascinating. In addition to this, however, little remains: a travel documentary in which the two protagonists do not add much in terms of personality or storytelling skills. The real aspect of interest lies in considering With your feet on the groundas a important step in the re-branding of a celebrity like Efron. After the star phase of the kids world, after the idol phase of teen agers, it is now time to reposition yourself with a new look, in a more mature way, sensitive to the themes of the Di Caprio environmental trend. It will not have seemed true to Netflix to be able to indulge the passion for travel of a global star like Efron to launch a similar series in a summer in which the journey with the imagination has for many the task of making up for a forced immobility.
