Pessimistic forecasts that the fate of the Syrian city of Aleppo, which the Russians practically wiped off the face of the Earth, will meet in Kharkiv, are unlikely to ever become reality. As reported by the “Comments” portal, this is the opinion of Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, expressing his position in an interview with “UP”. The representative of intelligence also does not share similar comments of the mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov, because Ukraine has something to answer for.

“Still, Ukraine is not Syria. And I would not use apocalyptic scenarios for comparison. It is clear that Ukraine is not alone in this situation and the Ukrainian Defense Forces also have something to answer for. But at the same time, we critically need international help and support. This concerns both weapons in general – as well as anti-aircraft defense equipment,” Andriy Yusov noted.
Notably, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated in an interview with The Guardian that Russia has changed tactics to try to destroy Kharkiv’s power system and terrorize its 1.3 million population by shelling residential areas. Therefore, Kharkiv may become the second Aleppo, if the US does not approve military aid to Ukraine, which will allow it to receive anti-aircraft support to protect against long-range Russian attacks.
Former People’s Deputy Boryslav Bereza also spoke in a similar vein. He declared on Facebook that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants to turn Kharkiv into Ukrainian Aleppo. According to him, the Kremlin dictator will not stop before the number of victims.
According to the politician, the only thing holding back the Rashists is not the fear of the number of victims, but the lack of resources and a certain shortage of missiles and shells for this purpose.
