In a touching video, YouTube megastar Nikkie de Jager alias Nikkietutorials outed herself as a transgender, surprising her 12 million followers.
Nikki de Jager is considered the YouTubes Beauty Queen. With their make-up tutorials and entertaining Make up-Challenges has inspired the 25-year-old Dutch woman for over ten years worldwide. Her YouTube channel “Nikkietutorials” has over 12.5 million followers.
Nikkie is considered an approachable star who also addresses difficult issues. In one of her videos, she reported how she suffered from the death of her little brother, who died of cancer in 2018 at the age of just 14.
In her latest video, Nikkie de Jager now reveals her most intimate secret: she reveals herself as Transgender,
“I was born in the wrong body”
Nikkie starts what is probably the most emotional video for her with the words: “I’m here today to share with you something that I wanted to share with you one day – but on my own terms.” Unfortunately, this opportunity was taken away from her.
Nikkie is alluding to defamation. She was blackmailed by people to make her story public. With the step, she wants to show that she has the power and the strength to speak publicly about her secret.
Nikkie alias Nikkietutorials continues: “I want to start the year with the truth. I want to start the year with finally revealing the part of me that makes me who I am.”
With a husky voice and tears in her eyes, the 25-year-old then says that she is transgender. To have her coming out in the video would scare her, but would also feel liberating.
In the course of the video, Nikkie talks about the feeling of being born in the wrong body and how important it was for her to support her mother. In a tear-choked voice, the 25-year-old says: “What I’m most grateful for is my mom.” Nikkie also finds moving words for her fiancee Dylan. He was the kindest and most sincere man she knew, and she was proud that he was by her side.
“I’m still me”
With her high-profile coming-out, Nikkie sends an important message – not only to her millions of followers: “Be yourself. Live your life without restrictions. Only you have it in your hand.” The fact that she came out as a transgender doesn’t change who she is. She is still ‘Nikkie’.
With her message she wants to inspire and encourage young people to stand up for themselves. She hopes to be a role model for everyone who feels insecure and does not dare to live the life they want.

Nikkie’s emotional video creates a storm of positive reactions. Within a few minutes, thousands of people liked coming out. After a short time there were tens of thousands of comments in the video, in which people around the world pay respect to the YouTuber for this courageous step and share their message.
