Starting today, November 14, Content creators will be required to flag their videos if they contain material created by artificial intelligence programs, as described in the official announcement on the YouTube blog.
The main objective of this new measure is to promote transparency and combat misinformation, especially on sensitive topics such as elections and health crises, which can degenerate the opinions of audiences.
YouTube aims to address content that “realistically depicts an event that never happened” or features deepfakes that portray people “saying or doing something they didn’t actually do.”
