During the Holy Week of this 2022, EsSalud reported that six people received a second chance thanks to a 33-year-old man who decided to donate his organs to be transplanted to people on the waiting list. The donor donated his heart, liver, kidneys and corneas, organs that helped a total of six patients.
The heart was transplanted into a 35-year-old woman suffering from severe heart condition. The complex surgical intervention was carried out by specialists from the EsSalud National Cardiovascular Institute (INCOR).

The specialist asserted that, to date, there are around 4,000 patients waiting for an organ in the hospitals of It’s Health. Therefore, he urged the public to join this altruistic act.
“Donating organs saves lives. One donor can save the lives of up to nine people. That is why it is important that citizens decide to donate their organs and that this decision be recorded in their DAYS. We need the generosity and solidarity of the population. Without donors there are no Transplants”, she highlighted.
