Young man arrives by boat in Miami after rowing from Spain

A young athlete from Lithuania has gone viral after crossing the Atlantic Ocean aboard a rowboat, arriving in Florida after leaving Spain in December last year.

This is Aurimas Valujavičius, 28 years old, who sailed alone for more than 120 days since he left Spain one day after Christmas.

According to the young man, who documented the arduous journey on his social networks, he rowed daily between 12 and 14 hours, arriving this Tuesday, April 25, at the Matheson Hammock Marina, near Coral Gables.

The young man prepared for this trip for two years, using a rowing boat with a single seat called “The Lituanica”.

With this, the young athlete has become the first Lithuanian to complete a solo rowing trip from the European continent to North America.

“After 120 days, 14 hours and 48 minutes, the Atlantic Ocean was crossed! Lots of emotions, a great test and the tenth journey of life is officially done! Believe in yourself, because if you don’t believe in yourself, who will believe in you?” The young man wrote on his social networks after arriving in Florida.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed to the fulfillment of this dream of mine, for your warm and motivating messages and thank you for believing in me! We are powerful! May Lithuania be reborn in the new century! Thank you!” she added.

During his trip, the young man managed to record himself while rowing, taking advantage of his short breaks to upload videos and update his followers.

“Life’s experiences. Who would have thought that he would row across the ocean and commit what others call suicide? Nothing is impossible, it is too narrow a scope. We are the architects of our own destiny ”, she published less than a week ago.
