If you have a lot of time and talent for Halo 2, you might have a chance to win a five-figure prize. All you have to do is achieve something that has never been done before in history.
Streamer Charlie “Cr1tikal” White is offering $20,000 to anyone who can complete Halo 2 Anniversary without dying on “Legendary All Skulls On” (LASO) difficulty. That means a game on max difficulty with almost every modifier enabled, the effects of which range from “your enemies have more health” to “all enemies are now invisible”. The only modifier you need to keep disabled is the “Envy” skull, which replaces the torch with an active camouflage system.

There is no recorded instance of anyone ever completing such a race without dying. Even completing a LASO session while death is allowed is an incredible feat, attempted only by a small minority of the toughest of hardcore gamers. White admits in his challenge video that the only one who came close to finishing the session was “Jervalin” who kept the “Envy” skull on – meaning Jervalin had the advantage of being able to turn invisible at any time.
Cr1tikal, however, is optimistic about the challenge. “It makes the game almost unbeatable,” he admits in his initial challenge video, “but the possibility is there, though.” Of course, in that first video, he set the reward at $5,000, but a lack of competitors eventually led him to raise it to $20,000.
Cr1tikal himself confesses that he can’t get past Halo 2’s first two rooms following his own rules for the challenge. But if you are an expert in Halo 2 is worth a try.
