Amazon has announced the launch of the Alexa Game Control feature via the Alexa digital assistant, which allows players to use game content directly through natural language interactions, such as interacting with in-game NPCs or quickly switching weapons in their hands. Dead Island 2, developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, will be the first game to be played via the Amazon Alexa digital assistant service.

Players do not need to interact with the Alexa digital assistant service as usual during the operating process. For example, the digital assistant service must first be activated via keywords such as “Alexa”, but can be issued directly via voice commands, allowing players to use the game more intuitively.
At the moment, the Alexa Game Control feature is limited to English interaction in North America, but Amazon has said it will continue to expand this feature to more countries and support more languages in the future. While the Alexa Game Control feature currently only supports Xbox and Windows PC platforms, Amazon also said it plans to bring the voice-activated games feature to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch in the future.
In addition to allowing players to play directly via dictation, Amazon also expects this feature to create more game modes, even for gamers with limited mobility.
