You can play these launch games immediately on Xbox Series X and S (trailers)

The next generation of consoles is coming and with the launch of the Xbox Series X and S you will be playing these games.

This week was Xbox week. Microsoft announced the Xbox Series S and revealed the prices of the two upcoming consoles (check the specs and differences). We now know that from November 10 we can get started with the next generation of consoles. But which next-gen Xbox Series X games will you pick up at launch? Just a handful, as far as we now know.

Fans of Assassin’s Creed and Dirt can look forward to the Xbox Series X launch, because those two franchises come with a launch game. Those are about the only two games that come out immediately. While there will be a ton of games coming out around the holidays, we only know for sure that a few titles are right away will be playable on Xbox Series X and S. All games in this list will also be available on the current Xbox One.

Other previously announced games will also be out sometime around the release of the Xbox Series X and S. At the time of writing, it is not yet known whether titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Marvel’s Avengers, Fortnite and NBA 2K21 are already available at launch.

Games that will be released for Series X and S later

Finally, games that come later to next-gen. Of course, this category includes literally every game that hits stores after November 10th. But in concrete terms, there is only one that we need to mention here: Cyberpunk 2077. The highly anticipated RPG from Witcher maker CD Projekt Red is initially released for the current generation. The game will then be released on next-gen consoles in 2021.
