You can make a call from the iPhone 13 even without a mobile signal. Apple is preparing a big news

We are less than a month away from the unveiling of this year’s iPhones, and even though we have a relatively comprehensive idea of them thanks to all sorts of leaks, new information is still emerging. The latter is the fault of the renowned informant Ming-Chi Kuo, and this is a relatively large matter.

You can make a call from the iPhone 13 even without a mobile signal

If last year’s generation, we finally received network support 5G, this year Apple will go even further with connectivity. Even so far that it should be possible to make calls even in places where no mobile signal reaches. Kuo claims that this year’s iPhones will have satellite communications, reportedly able to connect to satellites in the low Earth Orbit, in the n53 band.

Both StarX satellites from SpaceX and Globalstar satellites use this band. The latter company is mentioned as the main candidate for cooperation with Apple. According to Ku, satellite communications should be qualitatively comparable to 5G in the mmWave bands, which means very high speed and response. The modified Snapdragon X60 modem from Qualcomm will reportedly work with the satellites, giving Apple an edge over the competition; it will not see satellite communication until next year with a Snapdragon X65 modem.

And what about paying for satellite connection? According to Ku, the simplest scenario would be the journey via mobile operators cooperating with Globalstar (or Starlink). The user would have everything on one invoice, his money would then be shared by both providers.
