Switzerland had to suffer for six years: after Swiss television eliminated “The Voice of Switzerland” from the program in 2014, the franchise casting show for vocal art on the private broadcaster 3+ is celebrating its resurrection. And already with the prologue to the first episode, the station’s creative department succeeded in a small cinematic masterpiece: the first one-player is a character interpretation of the musical judge, for which purpose a 3 + helicopter with an urgent suspicion of animation with mysterious load hangers in the Helvetian Airspace is sent.
At a mountain lake, Büetz Buebe, embodied by Gölä and Trauffer, sit on two quads, wear roughened leather jackets and claim to be looking for candidates who “make great, handmade music”. Noah Veraguth and Anna Rossinelli whisper beautifully in a “beautiful living” setting about the “hard music business”, while DJ Antoine steps out of a high-priced hotel with sunglasses despite the bad weather and immediately disappears into his Rolls Royce. He probably wants to imply that the prospect of glamor and wealth is the cheapest in his team.

In the meantime, the off-bass bass voice excels in terms of superlatives and announces not only the “most successful music show in the world”, but also the “strongest talents”, the “best voices of the nation” and the “best jury that the country has to offer Has”.
As is well known, the fillet piece of “The Voice” format is the so-called “blind auditions”: the jury does not see the candidates and decides solely on the basis of the votes whether someone will get ahead or whether it will go straight back to safer employment from the show stage ,

So it is supposed to be about the sheer music and not the appearance – an idea with which DJ Antoine in particular has a hard time: After his swivel chair has thrown him into the field of vision of the first candidate, his first stammered words are: «You are blond, beautiful like an angel – somehow english ».
What the jury did not really understand is that the show should only be marginally about itself. But because music life in Switzerland is not an easy one, and is rarely played in the focus of television cameras, the group of five uses every opportunity to storm the stage: Noah Veraguth persuades a candidate to add a song from his song catalog to sing, Anna Rossinelli soon vocal duels with the blonde angel on the stage. And in what must have been the most miserably hypocritical fake act since the invention of color television, Trauffer, Gölä and DJ Antoine stumbled across the streets of Ma Chérie in a full playback jam into the auditorium.

There are at least a few notable exponents among the singing staff who will be presented to the jury: there is the Axel, a jazz student suffering from excessive self-confidence who wants to score with sex (and therefore does not come as a surprise to DJ Antoine). There is the strange metal shouter Jacky, who sees Gölä as an “old rocker”, sings “Highway to Hell” when she is in bad shape and, as the first official act, puts a motley plush toy on the stage in front of her.
And then there’s the pitiable Cuban Raphael. He is said to have been a star in his former homeland and now plans to relaunch his career with a karaoke version of “Despacito”. Soon he realizes that hard bread is being served to him in Switzerland: the only people who turn around for him are the Buetz Buebe, and soon he will be danced on the open stage by Trauffer and DJ Antoine, emphasizing his waist. After this culture shock, his smile is a little tortured.

Incidentally, the program is moderated by Max Loong and Christa Rigozzi – but in the preliminary round they are still rooted in supporting roles: Loong surprises nurses in hospitals with a poorly hidden camera, Rigozzi practices backstage in the high art of sharing the excitement. She can do that.
It is questionable whether this format actually introduces new talent into the music exploitation chain. Nicole Bernegger, the first of two Swiss “The Voice” winners, has recently broken all contracts and is starting her career again. Tiziana Gulino has landed in the musical environment and is only known to die-hard casting show fans. If it continues like this, there is at least no need to worry about the careers of the jury members.
