Yoshitaka Murayama, Creator of ‘Suikoden’, Passes Away at 55 – Legacy Continues in ‘One Hundred Heroes’ RPG

Japan’s Rabbit & Bear Studios announced today (14th) that senior developer Yoshitaka Murayama, who served as the representative of the studio, died suddenly on February 6 at the age of 55. The team of his new RPG “Hundred Heroes”, which was responsible for the scene and game design, is deeply concerned. Feeling sad, he also expressed that he would continue his legacy and complete the work.

Yoshitaka Murayama is famous for his role as the game director and original script writer of the “Suikoden” series at KONAMI, which became the first RPG for many players to break through in their lives; he played “Suikoden” in 2002 III” was released one month before the release, and established Blue Moon Studio to continue participating in the screenwriting and planning of several games.

Unfortunately, Yoshitaka Murayama was unable to see the release of “The 100 Heroes”. Rabbit & Bear Studios announced that he passed away suddenly due to multiple organ failure. Rabbit & Bear Studios pointed out that “The Hundred Heroes” has entered the final stage of development, and regrets that Murayama Yoshitaka passed away before the release date. “Although it is difficult to fully accept this fact, we will inherit Murayama’s legacy and be protected and nurtured by other members. “Heroes 100” is expected to be released on April 23 on PC, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
