Even if the works of the ValLoire yellow bin sorting center are ongoing until the end of 2023 for an amount of 32 million euros, theextension of sorting instructions for residents of Saint-Etienne Métropole apply since this 1and January.
The new instructions for sorting yellow bins in force for the Loire Forez agglomeration
These new instructions for yellow separate collection apply to residents of Agglomeration of the Loire Forezof the Monts du Lyonnais, from Pilat of Rodaniabut also those located within the perimeter of the Sictom Velay-Pilat. These communities form the sydema group of licensing authorities of which Saint-Etienne Métropole is the director.
All paper and packaging should be placed in the yellow bin and can therefore be put to better use. The sorting center in Firminy will process 45,000 tons of waste annually from the yellow bin.
What you can now put in the yellow basket:
- All plastic packagingin the yellow basket : bottles and flasks with caps, yogurt pots, boxes, tubs, tubes, envelopes, sachets, plastic films…
- All paper and cardboard packaging in the yellow bin : food cartons, pizza boxes, egg boxes, paper bags…
Awareness campaigns on new separate waste collection habits continue to be sent to citizens by post. As for collection calendar 2023 in the 53 municipalities of the metropolis of Saint-Etienne, remains unchanged.
Note that it is not useful to clean the packaging before throwing it away, but simply to empty it. The large brown boxes must be taken to the recycling centre.
