Water bombs were sprayed with helicopters to block the possibility of re-fire
According to the fire department on the 19th, a fire started in a warehouse in Sacheon-ri, Yangyang-eup the previous day at around 10:17 p.m. moved to nearby hills.
The fire expanded with the strong southwestern wind of 8m/sec. Accordingly, the Fire Department issued the first stage of response at 10:57 pm and upgraded it to the second stage of response at 11:22 pm.
About 80 residents of 40 households in the vicinity were evacuated to the Sacheon-ri Village Hall in case of an emergency. It was confirmed that there was no human injury. The fire department and forestry authorities put in 1028 personnel including police, military units, and public officials, and 60 equipment such as pump cars, and extinguished the fire at around 4:15 am on the same day.
Yangyang-gun is planning to inspect the back light as soon as the day is bright, by putting more than 300 employees to look for a ember that may be hiding. In addition, a helicopter will be used to spray water in the wildfire area to block the possibility of recurrence.
