BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) — General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping has called for developing a good understanding of the CPC Central Committee’s important theory of Party building and to improve the quality of the Party’s organizational work.
Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a recent instruction. The instruction was discussed at the National Conference on Organizational Work, which was held Wednesday and Thursday.
Xi, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, sent greetings to all Party members as the Party will celebrate its 102nd founding anniversary on July 1.
Xi stressed the central role of the Party in building a modern socialist country in all respects and promoting the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts. He also underlined the essential role of staff in this regard.
To fulfill the missions and tasks of the CPC in the new march, he said, further progress should be made in strengthening Party building and Party organizational work.
He noted that maintaining and strengthening the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee should be regarded as the highest principle, and efforts should be made to build up a contingent of key officials competent in governance, capable to assume the mission of national renewal.
Xi stressed the need to accelerate the construction of global talent and innovation hubs.
He urged constant efforts to improve the quality of organizational work to provide a solid guarantee for building a great modern socialist country and promoting national rejuvenation.
Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, attended the conference and delivered a speech.
Xi said Xi’s extensive instruction points the way to carry out Party building and organizational work.
Xi’s prominent thinking on Party building sheds light on the Party’s comprehensive and rigorous self-governance, and has greatly enriched and developed Marxist theory of Party building, Cai said.
Cai called for long-term adherence to and full implementation of Xi’s important thought on Party building.
Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, also attended the meeting.
Li Ganjie, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a concluding speech at the conference. END
