Xbox’s first TikTok video is amusing to tears

The official Xbox account just posted its first video on TikTok. It wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t for the fact that the video is being discussed.

For years, Microsoft was not a company famous for its distance to itself. The company’s communication was as rigid as a statistical president of a corporation, as tight as a double windsor on a junior manager’s cheap tie. Even the Xbox department, the ENTERTAINMENT department, in external communication seemed more of a sedate gentleman in a suit let out to a dance party than a laid back teenager.

Since Satya Nadella sat at the helm of Microsoft and Phil Spencer took over the Xbox, the atmosphere in the company clearly began to relax, and Microsoft gradually developed the image of not a sad old man, but an energetic startup. In the case of Xbox, the biggest breakthrough came around the time the Xbox GamePass subscription was implemented. The Xbox team knew very well that it had to reach younger recipients with communication, for whom the subscription model is profitable, attractive and who do not have the slightest problem with not getting games “forever”.

What has recently been thrown by Xbox from his Facebook or Twitter accounts should be discussed in Internet marketing classes entitled “How to communicate freely and amusingly on the Internet”. On the occasion of the premiere of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft’s social media teams are climbing to the heights of distance from themselves and turning a joke into effective marketing tools.

The first video Xbox on TikTok it keeps you awake.

Like nothing – the first frame shows the available AR overlay, which allows you to “put a new console at home” and see if it will fit into the surroundings. And then we go to the gallery, and there … a review of memes about the Xbox Series X and Series S.

And not the forced, made-up funny pictures, but the actual memes that flooded the internet after the shows of Microsoft’s new consoles. So we have single-burner cookers and air conditioners (XSS), we have refrigerators (XSX), we even have a meme by the Polish graphic artist Fakes Forge, which went viral after Microsoft’s takeover of Bethesda.

Good pass Microsoft it must translate into the sale of the Xbox.

In recent weeks, Microsoft has taken the hearts of fans by storm and sows the seeds of uncertainty in the PlayStation camp. We got it all – one powerful and one affordable next-generation console, dirt-cheap subscription to hundreds of games, successful pre-sale and a bomb in the form of the acquisition of Bethesda.

And this is not the end of surprises, because Satya Nadella himself confirmed that the purchases of Xbox are not over yet and in a few hours we will find out which studio will go to Microsoft. Add to that fantastic marketing, with a pinch of salt, and… damn, if it doesn’t sell the Xbox Series X and Series S, there’s no hope for them.
