MusicSandy Boets (43), better known as Xandee, is determined to make a musical comeback. The singer behind Touch Of Joy and the Songestival song ‘One Life’ has released a brand new single and is ready to perform everywhere again. The last time Xandee came up with her own music was in 2006, when she released a cover of ‘Conga’.

After no less than 16 years, Xandee has returned to the record studio for her new single ‘Beautiful Again’. “A collaboration with DJ Gene Pole, better known as Diego from De Pitaboys”, Sandy tells us. “We’ve known each other for a long time and we’ve been saying for a long time that we wanted to work together musically. Now it has finally happened, and ‘Beautiful Again’ is the result. It was very nice to record music again and it immediately reminded me of the times of the past.”

The singer wants to spread a positive message with her new song. “The meaning behind ‘Beautiful Again’ is that life can be beautiful again, after all the troubles,” she says. “I’ve been through a lot and I’ve only just had a new heart operation. With this song I want to leave all my problems behind and be back.” Sandy has indeed not had an easy period: in recent years she had to deal with the death of her mother from cancer, various heart operations and procedures on her leg, the removal of two (benign) tumors in her uterus and a love break.

Warmly welcomed
Meanwhile, Sandy has turned the page and looks to the future with hope. Not only personally, but also musically. “In any case, I plan to make a sequel to this song. That can be in a different style, as long as it’s danceable,” she says. “I have already received a lot of reactions and people tell me that they are happy to hear my voice again. And the song was also well received on Radio 2. So I’m all set to be there again.”
