Corona vaccinations with the Novavax vaccine will start at the vaccination centers in Würzburg and Kitzingen on Friday – it is a protein vaccine. He is seen as a hope to increase the vaccination rate among those who have not yet wanted to be injected due to skepticism about mRNA vaccines.
Initially only for nursing staff
The vaccinations are initially only for nursing staff. An employer certificate must be submitted for this. The health authorities have announced that they will actively provide information when the vaccine is released for everyone.
Main-Spessart has been vaccinating Novavax since Thursday.
STIKO recommendation
The Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) recommends two vaccinations with Novavax at least three weeks apart. The protein vaccine is not yet recommended for booster vaccinations.
