Wuling BinguoEv sold from IDR 358 million to IDR 408 million, not including subsidy deductions. This is the estimated price of the Wuling BinguoEV with subsidies.
Wuling added to its line of electric cars by launching the BinguoEV. From its price composition, the Wuling BinguoEV can be said to be one level above the Air ev. Wuling BinguoEV is offered in two variants. The cheapest Wuling BinguoEV is priced at IDR 358 million and can cover a distance of 333 km. Meanwhile, the premium version sells for IDR 408 million and can cover a distance of 410 km.
The price apparently does not take into account subsidies. As is known, Wuling is one of the manufacturers that can get subsidies because the TKDN is 40 percent. As a result, the price of Wuling Air EV was cut by around 20 million. Meanwhile, BinguoEV has the potential to get subsidies.
Marketing Director of Wuling Motors Indonesia, Dian Asmahani, said that the price of BinguoEV is not yet final. Because, Wuling BinguoEV is projected to meet the TKDN target of 40 percent in the near future.
“The price we announced does not include incentives from the government. So in the future it could be cheaper than this,” explained Dian recently.
It is known from Wuling sales staff that BinguoEV reportedly has the potential to receive subsidies in the range of IDR 20-35 million. For the Long Range variant, the subsidy is estimated at IDR 25-30 million. Meanwhile, for the Premium Range variant, the estimated subsidy is IDR 30-35 million.
If calculated, the Long Range variant, which is currently selling for IDR 358 million, could be reduced to IDR 328 million. Then the Premium Range variant, with an estimated subsidy of IDR 35 million, the price has the potential to drop to IDR 373 million. The Wuling BinguoEV price is quite a highlight. The reason is that when compared to China, the price of BinguoEV in Indonesia is almost three times more expensive. In China, smokeless cars are offered starting from IDR 130 million.
“There are different regulations from the government, so it’s different. Then imagine there, sales of 150 thousand units in 5 months,” said Dian.
Apart from that, increasing sales volume is also an indicator of higher absorption of development and research for a product, thereby allowing prices to be cheaper.
“What is clear is that economics of scale is the main reason, if we look at the actual 24 million-plus car market, so yes there must be RnD costs that can be absorbed in such a large volume,” he said.
