KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Infrastructure is still one of the main focuses of the government for the next year. The government is still budgeting funds for infrastructure development in 2021 to reach Rp. 414 trillion
“Mainly for economic recovery, provision of basic services, and increased connectivity,” said President Joko Widodo at the DPR Building, Friday (14/8).
Jokowi continued, the Covid-19 pandemic shows that the availability and functioning of digital infrastructure is very important and strategic. Thus, infrastructure spending is directed at strengthening digital infrastructure and encouraging logistical efficiency and connectivity.

On the other hand, in terms of the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) for 2021, the President said that state revenue is projected to be IDR 1,776.4 trillion. Meanwhile, state spending is Rp 2,747.5 trillion. Thus, the budget deficit reached Rp. 971.1 trillion or 5.5% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
“The 2021 budget deficit will be financed by utilizing safe, carefully managed financing sources. Debt financing is carried out responsively to support policy countercyclical and accelerated socio-economic recovery, “concluded Jokowi.
