World’s richest $400 billion poorer in one year, Russian billionaires hardest hit

It was a bad year for the billionaires. According to business magazine Forbes their total wealth worldwide has fallen by $400 billion. In the 36th annual ranking there are therefore ‘only’ 2,668 billionaires, 87 less than a year ago. Although Elon Musk, the very richest, and newcomers like pop star Rihanna and Lord of the Ringsdirector Peter Jackson is still warm: the billionaires still have a combined wealth of 12.7 trillion.
