World runner-up Aryna Sabalenka vaccinated after covid disease

The Belarusian missed the Indian Wells tournament last month. Then she was isolated with covid-19.

– I stayed in the room for ten days. I trained a little there, but it was not enough. I had neither taste nor smell. It was not exactly a fantastic time, she says.

This made her think about current vaccination. The 23-year-old has previously said that she did not want to take the vaccine and referred to the short time that the vaccine took to get on the market.

– I think I’m ready to play now, I took the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Miami, she says.

Sabalenka is the favorite in the upcoming WTA final in Mexico since Ashleigh Barty withdrew from the tournament.

– Hopefully I’m safe now because I do not want to be in quarantine anymore. It’s not that fun.

Even the world setter on the men’s side, Novak Djokovic, has had doubts about the vaccine and has not wanted to say whether he took it or not.
